The Kit Review – Stoke Poges FC

Updated: Mar 3, 2021

Today we are off to Slough to visit Stoke Poges FC. Formed in August 2020 the club currently ply their trade on Sundays in the Thames Valley Sunday Football League division 3.

The club like all of us are hoping their debut season isn’t made null & void as they had made a very respectable start to their debut season as a side maintaining a 100% win rate in competitive league games so they will be hoping to avoid those three dreaded words…….Null & Void.

The shirt lets just say that imitation is the best form of flattery because the Stoke Poges will have some explaining to do if their shirt isn’t heavily inspired by the iconic Nigeria 2018 World Cup shirt.

However like the Nigeria shirt we love this, if your going to use a pre-existing design we encourage more teams to use iconic kits like this as for your sides. Stoke Poges have used Legea Teamwear to produce this gem.

The lime green with the white pattern on the main body of the shirt simply works and we love to see stuff like this rather than the bog standard bulk manufactured shirts that we see from the big brands. The white sleeves with the black again just makes the shirt different and memorable.

We eagerly await to see what Stoke Poges come up next will it be completely original? Or will they be inspired by another classic kit from history. You can keep up with Stoke Poges via their entertaining Twitter page (@PogesSunday) and Instagram (@stokepogesfc)
