Banstead Rovers have collected donations towards a local food bank ahead of the October half term.
The team is gathering food items and raising money in aid of the #ENDCHILDPOVERTY campaign. Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford started the trend last week, listing the names of cafés and restaurants that are providing meals to struggling families.
Rovers player Nick Wills set up a GoFundMe page Monday and set a goal of £250. The page has received £140. The club also received food to give to the Epsom and Ewell Food Bank in South London.
The club is encouraging people to continue donating and to check for updates via social media.
